宋照方从事建筑设计20余年，累计完成100多个建筑设计项目，先后50余次获得世界一线设计奖项的认可，包括ICONIC Awards德国标志性建筑设计奖Best of Best荣誉（只有前5%的项目所能获得的最高荣誉）、上海市优秀青年工程勘察设计师、Pro+年度杰出设计师奖（由上海市建筑学会主办）、IDA和THE PLAN奖等。同时，宋照方还是中国建筑学会会员和AIA国际副会员，在不同的专业团体和公众范围内，传递他的项目和设计理念。

He graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2003 with a master's degree in architecture.
Being the deputy chief architect at Lacime Architects - 2020 WAN Awards' ARCHITECT / PRACTICE OF THE YEAR, SONG Zhaofang has been engaging in architectural design for over 20 years, accumulating more than 100 completed projects ranging from highly pragmatic public infrastructure to well-crafted buildings and spaces. His projects have been recognized by world's leading design awards for over 50 times, including ICONIC Awards(of which only the top 5% could win the highest honor ) ,Shanghai Outstanding Young Engineering Survey Designer，Pro+ Outstanding Designer of the Year(leading architect’s personal honor in domestic China), IDA and the PLAN Award, etc. In addition, SONG Zhaofang is also Member of Architectural Society of China and AIA International Associate Member, keeps delivering his projects and design notions to wider professional body and public.

01 浪花艺术馆
整个湾区的规划“以点、线、面为基本逻辑，构建人、海、天之间的当代城市空间序列”。建筑以浪花为意象，切入“水”的主题，从海浪场景中抽取“水滴和浪花”的概念，造化海上镜像。浪花作为原型生成建筑的整体特征，形成了建筑和自然之间的对话体系，大海与土地的交融之处，建筑具备了新的符号意义。
02 世茂龙胤
建筑师精心设计一条行进路线，通过连续、变化地展示建筑物的各个主体空间，使被控制下的展示空间创造令人激动的效果，亦创造了一种随观看角度的转移而趣味生动的流线。通过行成一个严格对称和秩序的院落空间，三进院中的每一个院落都通过建筑实体与景观围合具有仪式感的空间，移步移景的空间。
03 北京天空图书馆
在“世界”这个存在的本身日益丰富与复杂的现在，人们的观念亦越来向无限宽广的领域延展，建筑不再拘泥于某些固定的、约定俗称的风格与套路，而是呈现出更加纯粹的可能性。天空图书馆的设计即是这样的一种尝试，从设计之初就没有被刻意地设想过“建筑的外观应该是什么样子”，而更多地作为被思考“建筑本身应该是什么样子”这种更为简单、直接的命题下的产物。因此，建筑师遵循“意义的简明”不如“意义的丰富”的思考，将建筑的设计拆解为每一个场景的设计，而拒绝对其风格形制进行简单的概括统一。除了建筑自身的“自由”之外，建筑师希望建筑对于城市环境的关系也同样是“自由”的，因此在西侧主入口打造了一个完全开敞的、可穿过的底层架空空间，而在场地内部营造了界限模糊的“院落”，并尝试了以一条半悬空的坡道对内外庭院进行模糊划分，从空间的暧昧关系上继续呼应“自由”的设计理念。

What are you looking for in winning entries?
A1：
希望他们能够传达更多设计技术之外的东西，更多关注自然界与城市之间的生活状态和体验感，关注生态、关注人文文化和历史背景，不是纯粹的建筑技术的体现。
I hope they can convey more beyond design techniques, pay more attention to the living state and experience between nature and the city, pay attention to ecology, humanistic culture, and historical background, rather than purely reflecting architectural technology.

What top tip would you give to this year's entrants?

希望能从参赛材料中，看到作品从最初的概念到最终落地实现的整个过程。
I hope to see the entire process from the initial concept to the final implementation of the work from the participating materials.
